The RUGGED by Body-Solid Pin and Pipe Safeties are heavy-duty safety accessories designed specifically for compatibility with the RUGGED by Body-Solid Y100 Power Rack. Built to absorb high-impact barbell drops, this traditional safety system protects the barbell and rack structure while providing essential protection during heavy solo lifts inside the power rack enclosure.
Construction & Performance Features
Sold in pairs, the assembly uses a dual-component design: an inner 5/8-inch solid steel pin encased in a free-floating 1 7/8-inch steel outer pipe. The system supports a maximum weight capacity of 1,000 lbs. During missed lifts or impact drops, the outer pipe rotates around the inner pin to absorb kinetic energy and minimize contact friction against the barbell knurling.
Finish & Placement
The metal components are treated with an electrostatically applied black powder-coat finish to prevent chipping, scratching, and surface corrosion. The pin-and-pipe design lets users quickly change catch positions along the rack uprights without tools.
