How do I best maintain any anti-skid surfaces on my equipment?
Replace any anti-skid surfaces if they appear worn or become slippery.
What maintenance should I perform on my machine's cables?
When the machine is not in use, carefully run your fingers along the cable to check for any thinning or bulging areas. If you notice any damage or wear, replace the cables immediately. Do not use the equipment until the damaged cable has been replaced.
Additionally, visually inspect the cables for signs of fraying, cracking, peeling, or discoloration.
Make sure to check for slack in the cables and readjust the cable tension if necessary.
Lastly, ensure that the jam nut on the top bolt of the selector rod is tight.
How do I clean & maintain the guide rods on my equipment?
Clean the surface using a dust-free cloth. Then, apply a lubricant that is either silicon-based or Teflon-based.
What should I do to maintain the nuts & bolts on my equipment?
Regularly check all nuts and bolts and tighten them as necessary. If bolts periodically loosen, apply Loctite 242 for a lasting solution. Schedule a re-tightening sequence to ensure all hardware is properly secured.
What are some general safety tips I should know about?
Using any type of fitness equipment carries inherent risks. To minimize these risks, please follow these important rules:
- Inspect the Equipment: Before each workout, check that all nuts, bolts, screws, and pop pins are in place and fully tightened. Examine cables for signs of wear and replace any worn parts immediately. Do not use the machine if any parts are damaged or missing, as failure to follow these rules may result in serious injury.
- Stay Clear of Moving Parts: Keep a safe distance from cables and all moving parts while the machine is in use.
- Secure Snap Links: Always ensure that all Snap Links are closed when performing cable, pulley, or strap exercises.
- Exercise Safely: Perform your exercises at a smooth, moderate pace. Avoid jerky or uncoordinated movements that could lead to injury.
- Consider a Training Partner: It is recommended to work out with a training partner for added safety.
- Supervise Minors: Do not allow children or minors to play on or around this equipment.
- Seek Guidance if Unsure: If you are unsure about the proper use of the equipment, contact a Body-Solid dealer in your area or contact the Body-Solid customer service department.
Consult your physician before starting any exercise program. For your safety, do not begin any exercise regimen without proper instruction.
What can I do to ensure long-term care of my Body-Solid products?
Body-Solid's precision craftsmanship ensures that we deliver products of the highest standards. Our equipment is carefully designed for safe and efficient long-term operation. However, safe use requires that owners read and follow the manufacturer’s use recommendations, warnings, and maintenance guidelines.
Routine inspection and maintenance are critical for maximum safety and performance. Although we use the highest quality materials available, wear and tear are inevitable. Therefore, you must closely inspect your equipment according to the Maintenance Schedule. Be aware that dangerous conditions can arise even during the warranty period; a warranty does not absolve the owner of the responsibility to carefully inspect the machine regularly.
Additionally, as the owner, you are responsible for:
- Providing adequate supervision for all users.
- Instructing all users on proper equipment usage.
- Ensuring that all supervisors and personal trainers know how to operate the equipment safely and are familiar with its adjustments and settings.
- Ensuring that trainers give proper instruction on the fundamentals of strength training.
What's the best way to maintain springs, pins & knobs on my Body-Solid equipment?
Examine all components for any visible signs of wear or damage. Confirm that the springs in the Snap Links and Pop Pins have the correct tension and are properly aligned.
If a spring is sticking or has lost its firmness, replace it right away.
How can I clean and maintain the upholstery on my Body-Solid equipment?
After each workout, make sure to wipe down the upholstery. Occasionally, use a mild soap or a gentle vinyl upholstery cleaner for deeper cleaning. Avoid any abrasive cleaners that are not specifically designed for vinyl. Additionally, keep sharp or pointed objects out of your pockets and away from all upholstery to prevent damage.
Warning Labels
Carefully read and understand all safety warnings and user information provided on the decals.
