Dealer Pointers
HousekeepingThere is no substitute for a clean and well organized showroom. The best place to sell premium fitness equipment is in a premium looking retail store. Clean floors, windows and counters are a must; but do not forget about the floor models. Floor model equipment can get old, dirty and semi-functional quickly.
Regularly scheduled cleaning and fine-tuning will help ensure your equipment is functioning optimally, thus giving your sales staff the best chance of closing sales. Make sure the adjustments are smooth and easy to use. Regularly clean treadmill belts, elliptical pedals, pads and other pieces that often get dirty through regular demos. Check cable tensions on your gyms. Another good idea is to regularly practice your sales presentations on each and every piece. This way if something is not up to par, you can correct it during practice; and then you and your showroom are “game ready” for the customers. If your machines are dirty or non-functional then you are selling with an extreme disadvantage.
